IAFF Local 799, the Providence firefighters union, today announced a full picket of the US Conference of Mayors annual meeting. Despite the fact that this action will prevent Vice President Biden and all of the previously confirmed members of the Obama cabinet from attending, Mayor Cicilline vowed that he will not cave in to unaffordable and unreasonable union demands. "If this union thinks that holding Providence hostage with its selfish and destructive behavior will force me to give up, they’re dead wrong," Mayor Cicilline said.
